Green Canyon & Pengandaran Trip

This weekend is holiday again. since there are no any activities for the Bank Bumi project. so my Team Lead(Graven) and Boon had planned to have a trip to Green Canyon, also called pengandaran. We will have a 2 Day 1 night trip at pengandaran. Pengandaran is an islan which located at Java southcoast on the west. This is the beach with massive, crashing waves and delicious seafood. Besides that, it also have a Green canyon and national park in the island. At last friday, after we took our dinner at Little Penang restaurant, then we go buy some necessary things needed in the trip. we go to Metro to buy pillow. without wasting anytime, they have choose their comfort pillow and bought it. After that its time to buy snacks. Within 15 minutes, we had bought around 90K rupiah snacks. quite a lot of snacks bring to the trip. Around 12 am, we all had prepared well and go down to the lobby for our journey to the Pengandaran island. Suddenly my roommate talk to me, choon ho,enjoy you trip!! i feel shock since i unexpect he will talk with me like that, so that's why he got a sourvenier from me.. haha. 7 of us be punctual to gather in lobby.Its time to start our journey by our bandung driver, Preston with his Toyota INOVA.The distance from Taman Anggrek to Pengandaran island needs around 6 hours to reach there.On the way to the destination, we chit chating and some of them are sleeping in the car. luckily we had brought our pillow, so we dont felt headache while sittingin the kijang. When i'm sleeping in the kijang, i could felt my body "drifting".. haha . This is because from Taman Anggrek go to the Pengandran island, need to take the road over moutain. At last, we reached Pengandaran island with 6 hours sitting in kijang. within the 6 hours, we only stopped once to go to toilet and our driver took a break to smoking. Because we reached there so early, so we still cant check in in the hotel that we had booked. so we took our breakfastat the hotel. the breakfast is simple but taste still consider OK. but there are not much choices for the breakfast, there only provided porridge, fried rice,fried mee and some kuih. after taking our breakfast, then we go around the island with our kijang. we saw a shop that provide the package to go to the green canyon, so we stopped there ask for the package, then the others go to sourvenier shop "hunting" their sourvenier. There have a cheap and nice keychain which you could write your name in the keychain.Bih lin bought so much key chain for her family. But unfortunately, the handwritting of the keychain ugly and not nice, really kek died her. we had booked the Green Canyon package at 10 am, so we go back to hotel to see got any room available or not since we only able to book 1 middle-size room through internet.luckily that there still got 1 small room available, so we rented it and put all our bag in the room. We also change to the swimming suit since later Green Canyon there will make wet.







From the Pengandaran island to the Green Canyon need around 1 hour to reach there. On the way to the Green Canyon, we could saw that the wave so strong and massive, this is another beach which affected by Tsunami. According to the local tour guide said, one people had died in the Tsunami.Because of this case, we could saw there was many notice board warning the traveller beware there. After 1 hours, we had reached the destination.When we just stepped out from the kijang, we saw many coconuts there, then we go there for a drink since the "perahu" stil not yet come back. We need to go through the Canyon with the "perahu". so before that then we drink the coconuts first. All of our drink is there, just left chea and pei yoong, suddenly the waiter said "This 2 good coconuts is for this 2 pretty and handsome". When i heard it i almost want laughing.. haha .. "PRETTY"and "HANDSOME".... OWKKKKKK. Finally its our turn to ride the "perahu", we had 7 peoples, so we had divided to 2 "perahu". that's a nice scene i never saw before, cause we ride on the "perahu" and trying to explore to the natural. Although the "perahu" engine sound quite noisy, but this wont reduce our mood to enjoying in this special experience. But when the time getting longer, seems like the scene we saw almost the same ... starting to felt a bit bored.... suddenly we saw there was many "perahu" park at the the end of the river, cause there are no way to let "perahu" to go through the river again. Finally there was another scene to see, else really bored... so fast that we had parked the "perahu" and get off from the "perahu", because the water there was cold, so bih lin and pei yoong dont want go down explore the canyon..so 5 of us (all is guys) then start our journey to explore the Green Canyon.. this journey quite tired and dangerous,since we need to climb over the stone, swimming in the river, we took around 1 hour and half walk until a short destination. we had stopped there and turn back since if we want to continue then consumes more time to complete it...no way want the only 2 gals waitting us there. On the way we back from the short destination, the tour guide persuade us to try jump from the waterfall stone into the river. First we had chosed a not very high stone to jump, but both of us also feel that quite dangerous if we jump from there. This is because we could saw a stone in front may injured us while we jumping from the stone. End up both of us also no jump from there. Then the tour guide bring me to the other more higher stone to jump. This time no excuse for me to jump from there since the river is enough deep. So suddenly dont know where i gain the brave, i follow the tour guide climb up to the stone to jump from upside. The height between river and stone could count as height of double storey house. First time i saw it also feel scary, but i tell myself must go have a try for this since i already climb to upside of the stone. I countdown in my heart ... 3 ..2 ..1 .. then jump from the stone... i can feel myself fly in sky, i can feel that i have 2 seconds the whole body never touch anything. and finally i go into the river. i feel my breast and legs quite pain, and felt me is dizzy, all of this feeling come from the water pressure. luckily i feel better after 1-2 minutes, the tour guide direct tell me that the style i jump not correct, quite dangerous cause i jump without let the leg touch the water first, which are whole body touch the river directly. Phew ... a dangerous action, kids dont learn from me :P. finaly we left the Green Canyon and go back take our lunch at one of the seafood shop in the pengandaran. the udang bakar of the shop quite nice.. yummy yummy. After that we just go walk around the beach side and took photo. Because we take a long journey come to the pengandaran with the Toyota Inova, so everybody also feel tired and we had planned to go back hotel to take a rest. We had decided to view the sunset in the evening. All of us took bath and took a nap in the hotel.



Time pass so fast, already is evening, so we go to the nearer beach to view the sunset. the BDS guy and gals still feel sleepy and tired, so they skip to view this beautiful scene. so only left 4 of us walking on the beach and viewing how the fisherman do their job, i saw they are not easy to earn the money of the current job, since all the fishes they get also selling quite a cheap price, the middle guys only gain a lot of profit there.





After viewed the sunset, we went to the pasar to take our dinner, this dinner is the most nice that i took in this trip, many delicious seafood such as crabs, prawns, 龙虾, sotong, kankung.... really nice for the 龙虾.. .just like what boon said, before taste the 龙虾, must drink some tea to clear your mouth first.. :P .. what's a concept.. haha... When we get out from the restaurant.. we could saw the moon is full and the moon shadow make the sea looks pretty, too bad is never take a photo for this.


We heard that there are a festival here, which are a singing competition. so we decided to go there have a walk. when we just reached there, 4 of us (chea, py, bihlin and me) see the roadside got help people apply tattoo. so 4 of us decided to make the tattoo. we choose the same tattoo as our logo, somemore we have name it as club tangan kanan.. really funny. Because of making the tattoo, we never have chance to go watch the singing competition.




After we had made our tattoo, we want go back to take rest since tomolow still have more activity waitting for us. 4 of us .. sure is tangan kanan club still not feel sleepy, so we went to the nearer souvenier shop to buy some sourvenier, that time really feel funny, cause they had bought many of key chain which can write down the name, but the writing style like normal people writing, not nice at all. when they see the writing name of the key chain here more nicer, really make them feel regret and kek sum .. haha . so i also had bought 2 key chain which 1 for my own keep and the other sure is my roommate. since he stay alone at apartment :P. finally we shop until all the shop want to close soon then only go back hotel to sleep. we plan to wake up watch the sunrise at 6 am again.



we woke up at 5.40 am and went to the nearer beach prepare to see the sunrise, long time i didnt view the sunrise already, so finally i got chance to view the sunrise at pengandaran. again, BDS guy and gals failed to wake up for the sunrise scene, they had missed the chance...:P. after that 5 of us plan to rent the bicycle to go through the pengandaran island, the bicycle quite special, which 2 people in 1 bicycle. so chea and py both for 1 bicycle, bih lin and me for 1 bicycle, and saw yih took a single person bicycle. first time i ride on this bicycle, really feel strange since i hard to control the people sit behind me, when i break that time then bih lin still keep bicycling.. make me hard to take break. when turn left or right that time more funny, turn left or right must stop a while for me to easy control the steering, so that i can turn left or right easily, but she keep bicycling so make me turn left that time seems like drifting .. haha .. luckily both of us also not injured because of this .. and we also start to know how to control the bicycle...The most nice scene is when you riding a couple bicycle under the sun, which the sunshine paste at the two people, really like the drama romantic scene, too bad is we didnt take such photo of scene there and too bad is i go with an aunty :P :P :P

After that we ride on the boat there to go to the white sand beach. the tour guide told us that we can see the 珊瑚there, but seems that day the water quite dirty, so we not able to view it. we just go walk around the white sand beach and take some photo there.

we go eat our breakfast at hotel, and then later we will go to the national park of pengandaran island. before we go to the national park , both 4 of us (club of tangan kanan) had bought our own uniform, quite charming that time since we had wear the same shirt and show our logo to others. finally we reached at the national park there, we followed the tour guide go explorer the national park , and listening the history/ story in the pengandaran. I'm not so understand what he said since he is using indonesia language, but also get fun from there since take a lot of beautiful photo there.

After that , we leave for the national park and boon had gave suggestion that we go to the bandung to view the valcano lake. As i had been saw the photo of valcano lake which taken by boon, i knew there was a nice place to go, so both of us also agree to go there and leave from the pengandaran island. We fast to check out of the hotel and start our journey to bandung.

Unfortunately, we not able to reach the valcano lake because of the traffic jam and we had been too late to decide to go there...so we just plan to take our dinner at The Valley restaurant which can view the bandung night view. quite a nice environment of the restaurant there, and the foods there also quite nice. we viewing the night view by chit chatting there .. really feel quite enjoy in this nice environment.

After the dinner, we went back to the Taman Anggrek. I'm happy with this trip since there was a lot of nice scene in the pengandaran island. Not bad that you organized a trip to the pengandaran island.
